Cambria Construction in Cypress, CA | Iron Beam Contractors
If you’re in Cypress and need Cambria quartz fabricated and installed, we’re the independent contractor who handles the whole job: template, edge profile, seam, sink cutout, and set. Most of what we do in the 90630 is reworking kitchens and baths in 1950s-70s tract homes, which means someone has to actually understand how a new slab lands on an old floor and an out-of-level cabinet run. Call (833) 756-5936 for a free estimate on Cambria sales & service in Cypress.
Why Cypress Residents Choose Us for Cambria Service
We template Cambria against the actual state of your kitchen, not a spec sheet. Nolan Driscoll runs Iron Beam Contractors, and he grew up in Friendly Hills knowing what Orange County clay does to slab foundations and what a settling 1962 tract house does to a level line. That’s the difference. We’re not reading your floor with a laser and hoping; we’re checking the plane of the substrate, the cabinet boxes, and the overhang before we ever commit a $3,500 slab to a cut. Working with Cambria means respecting the material’s limits: it’s hard, it’s quarried, and it does not forgive a bad substrate. Most Cypress homes we walk into have had at least one prior kitchen refresh, and the substrate often tells that story.

Common Cambria Construction Problems We Solve in Cypress
- UV fading and sheen loss on dark slabs. Cypress summers are hot and rainless, with direct afternoon sun pouring through old single-pane sliders and west-facing kitchen windows in 1960s ranch homes. A dark slab like Cambria Hawksmoore in a west-facing kitchen without window film will show sheen change over a few years. We’ll tell you that before you buy.
- Seam shadowing at cooktop and sink cutouts. We pull a lot of old laminate and tile off counters that were set on 5/8-inch plywood that’s sagged a quarter inch over 50 years. Hairline cracks at a cooktop cutout almost always trace back to an underbuilt or out-of-plane substrate, not a bad slab.
- Edge chipping at the dishwasher and prep-sink aprons. Cambria is hard but brittle at unsupported edges. Heavy pan contact right at the dishwasher reveal or a farmhouse apron will chip an edge that wasn’t properly relieved and supported during set.
- Etching and heat scorch near the range. Quartz isn’t marble, but it’s not a welding table either. We see rings and scorch marks where hot pans and slow cooker bases sat directly on the slab with no trivet. On Cypress remodels, the range wall often has less than 18 inches of landing on either side, so this happens more than it should.
- Island seams that telegraph through a waterfall edge. On a Lincoln Avenue galley rework, we pulled a Cambria Brittanicca island that had a 1/8-inch dip in the substrate. The previous installer set the slab anyway. The seam shadow read right through the waterfall edge every afternoon. We rebuilt the base to level and reset the slab with a color-matched seam at the sink.
Cambria Service in Cypress: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment
Cypress is a built-out postwar tract city, which means almost every Cambria job here is a remodel or addition on a 1950s-70s single-family lot, not new construction. That has one concrete consequence: nearly every island, vanity, and kitchen addition must clear city permit review on setbacks, lot coverage, and single-family character before we ever schedule a template. Older Cypress tracts have mature street trees and small lots, so access and staging on a rework can get tight. A 10-foot island slab doesn’t bend around a ficus trunk or a 6-foot side gate. We plan delivery and set around that. Nolan’s time around Santiago Oaks and the older Orange County tracts left him with a habit of checking grade and access before the slab order goes in. If the structure makes sense on paper, it’ll hold in the field. If it doesn’t make sense on paper, we fix it before we touch a beam. That applies to a countertop just as much as a load-bearing wall.
Cambria Models & Products We Service in Cypress
We fabricate and install Cambria’s full residential line, including Brittanicca, Ella, Portrush, and Hawksmoore. Slabs come through Cambria’s fabricator network, so we’re never substituting an aftermarket quartz and calling it Cambria. What we do use aftermarket is the underlayment and mounting hardware, because that’s where the install either lasts or fails. For Cypress kitchens, we keep a working library of Cambria edge-profile samples and sink templates local, so most templating and cut decisions happen in one visit. You pick the slab, we template against your actual cabinets and walls, and the seam plan gets set before the saw touches anything.

FAQs – Cambria Construction in Cypress
Yes. We are an independent contractor, not a Cambria-authorized dealer or manufacturer affiliate. We source slabs through Cambria’s fabricator network and follow Cambria’s slab dimensions and fabrication guidelines, but the warranty relationship stays between you and Cambria, and we don’t imply otherwise. Call (833) 756-5936 and we’ll walk you through exactly how the sourcing works.
Often no, at least not the way it’s sketched. Cypress’s older tract homes have small kitchens, and the city’s lot-coverage and setback review is scrupulous about any addition that changes the footprint. We’ll redraw the plan before the template. If a 7-foot island doesn’t clear, we’ll tell you and show you what does fit, including a peninsula or extended counter run.
The heat and UV won’t crack a Cambria slab, but they will fade dark colors and stress seams on south-facing and west-facing runs where old windows pour in sun. Lighter slabs like Ella hold their look longer in a bright Cypress kitchen. Dark slabs like Hawksmoore may need window film or shade screens to keep sheen consistent. Call (833) 756-5936 and we’ll look at your light exposure before you commit to a slab.
If it’s a straight countertop swap in the same footprint, typically not. If the project changes plumbing, framing, electrical, or the building footprint, then yes – Cypress reviews it for setbacks, lot coverage, and single-family character. As your general contractor, we handle that review as part of the scope. Call (833) 756-5936 and we’ll tell you whether your job triggers review before any slab is ordered.
We plan every delivery around the access. Mature trees, narrow side gates, and short driveways on the older Cypress tracts mean slabs get walked in on A-frames or routed through the garage, not craned over the roof. We measure the path before the slab leaves the fabricator. If the full slab can’t clear, we adjust seam placement so the fabrication still works. Call (833) 756-5936 and we’ll check your access during the site visit.
